Session Description
The Federal Transit Administration selected projects for the Mobility on Demand Sandbox Program in October 2016, with all projects now completed. Several projects involved partnerships between transportation network companies and transit agencies. The Sandbox program allowed transit agencies to explore integrating TNCs into existing transit service, with TNCs providing first mile/last mile as well as ADA paratransit service. Our panelists will discuss the challenges, opportunities, and lessons learned through these partnerships, including relevant local and federal requirements, regulations and policies that may support or impede the transit industry’s adoption of mobility on demand solutions.
