SPEAKER BIOGRAPHY
Pat Steed has envisioned bringing land use, economic, environmental and transportation planning together with community visioning for over four decades. Her journey has included working as a Planning Director for a city and a large urban county in the rapidly growing Central Florida I-4 corridor. She has served four MPOs, three as the Director. At a national transportation consulting firm she was a Project Director for a major client. Diverse projects in her career include leading planning components and alignments for a high speed rail EIS, managing rural mobility coordination in six-counties, writing an award winning Comprehensive Plan for one of the fastest growing communities in the country, and leading the Heartland 2060 Building a Resilient Region Vision for seven-counties in Florida where she serves as Executive Director of the RPC and TPO.
She has served on state and national policy and technical review panels. Currently Vice-Chair of the Florida Transportation Plan Steering Committee, she served for over 15 years in guiding the visioning, policy development, implementation, and evaluation of Florida's multi-modal transportation network. As a thought leader, Pat is a frequent speaker, moderator, and presenter at regional and national conferences.
As a Board Member of the National Association of Development Organizations (NADO) and of SERDI, Pat has led classes to ensure the next generation of practitioners is equipped with best practices for forecasting and planning for the future of our communities. She has led dynamic teams in award winning projects in transportation, environmental, equitable engagement, visioning, and community planning.
