Speaker Biography
Ronald W. Eck, P.E., Ph.D., has B.S.C.E. and Ph.D. degrees from Clemson University and is a registered professional engineer in West Virginia. From 1975 to 2008, Ron served on the faculty of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at West Virginia University. During that time, he developed and taught undergraduate and graduate courses and conducted research in several areas, including roadway safety and low-volume roads. He published and presented the results of his research in a variety of forums. From 1991 to 2008, he was also Director of the West Virginia Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP). He retired from WVU in 2008 as Professor Emeritus of Civil Engineering. He remains active professionally in a second term as LTAP Director, as a trainer, as a consultant and in technical committees of the Transportation Research Board and the Institute of Transportation Engineers.
