Speaker Biography
Bradley Wentz P.E., Currently Brad is the Program Director for ATAC and DOTSC at the Upper Great Plains Transportation Institute where he started in 2012. As Director of the Advanced Traffic Analysis Center, he oversees a staff of transportation engineers, researchers and students who use the center's technology to model and analyze traffic, perform traffic studies and develop ITS. As Director of the Department of Transportation Support Center, Wentz oversees engineering and computer science students and staff to provide North Dakota Department of Transportation and Local Government engineers assistance in project development, asset management, and transportation IT applications. Before joining UGPTI, he was the county engineer for Becker County, MN, for 12 years. And prior to that he worked 11 years with the North Dakota Department of Transportation.

The Local Road Surface Selection Tool was developed for NDLTAP by engineers and computer science students at the Upper Great Plains Transportation Institute at NDSU. The purpose of this tool is to assist County Engineers in making improvement decisions for low volume gravel roads. This presentation will explain how the tool was developed and provide an overview of how it operates.
