SPEAKER BIOGRAPHY
As Kodiak’s Senior Corporate Counsel, Monika Darwish is working to build the legal and policy frameworks for the deployment of Kodiak’s autonomous trucks. Monika provides counsel on a wide range of corporate, product, and transactional matters–ensuring that Kodiak is positioned for commercialization in each realm. That diverse legal portfolio also equips Monika with a unique perspective in her policy work. Having worked in the autonomous trucking space since early 2020, Monika has helped shape the industry’s perspective on the novel policy questions presented by autonomous trucking. She focuses her policy work on federal and California regulatory efforts.
Monika started her career in the political and crisis communication realms before gaining legal training at premier investment firms and regulatory agencies. Monika previously worked at Sequoia Capital, the California Air Resources Board, and the California Energy Commission. Monika holds a Juris Doctor from the University of California, Hastings and a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Studies from the University of Southern California.
