SPEAKER BIOGRAPHY
Hendrik Weber received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 2015 and his Master of Science in Automation Engineering in 2017, both from RWTH Aachen University. Since 2017, he has been a research assistant at the Institute for Automotive Engineering (ika) at RWTH Aachen University, where he is also pursuing his PhD. His work focuses on verification and validation approaches for automated vehicles as well as on methods and tools for assessing their impact on safe traffic. He was the leader of the subproject “Evaluation” in the European research project on Automated Driving L3Pilot, which piloted Level 3 vehicles on public roads and evaluated their behavior in traffic and resulting impacts. Currently he is leading the subproject “Effects” in L3Pilot’s successor project Hi-Drive, which aims at bringing automated driving closer to its real world deployment, by analyzing the impacts of enabling technologies.
