PRESENTATION DESCRIPTION
Over the last few years and into the future, MnDOT has led a wide variety of CAV projects that incorporate data collection and rural areas. This presentation will highlight those projects and efforts including, goMARTI, an upcoming automated shuttle pilot project in rural Minnesota, Med City Mover, a nearly completed automated shuttle pilot project, research project "Diver Assist System for Snowplows Operating in Poor Visibility, Drive Minnesota where two automated vehicles will drive over 1000 miles throughout Minnesota in one week collecting data on the compatibility of roadways against emerging ADAS/AD technologies, and the work of our Data and Connectivity CAV Innovation Alliance Committee.
SPEAKER BIOGRAPHY
Thomas Johnson-Kaiser is the Engagement and Project Manager for MnDOT's Connected and Automated Vehicles Office. Thomas leads CAV research and demonstrations projects and helps manage the Governor's Advisory Council on Connected and Automated Vehicles. Prior to joining the CAV-X Office in August 2021, Thomas was a Project Coordinator in MnDOT's Office of Research and Innovation, managing state and Local Road Research Board projects and leading the development of MnDOT's innovation strategy and program.
