PRESENTATION DESCRIPTION
Researchers at the University of California-Riverside's Center for Environmental Research and Technology (CE-CERT) have an extensive research program in connected and automated vehicles, with the primary goal of minimizing environmental impacts. This presentation describes the various areas and projects that are taking place at CE-CERT, including smart intersection management, dynamic eco-driving techniques, innovative routing techniques, intelligent roadway management, dynamic powertrain management, and sustainable freight.
SPEAKER BIOGRAPHY
Matthew Barth is the Yeager Families Professor at the College of Engineering, University of California-Riverside. He a faculty member the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department and is also the Director of UCR's Center for Environmental Research and Technology (CE-CERT). He is also serving as UC Riverside’s Faculty Director of Sustainability. He received his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science from the University of Colorado, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara. His current research interests include Sustainable Transportation Systems, Intelligent Transportation Systems, Advanced Navigation Techniques, Vehicle Activity Analysis, Transportation/Emissions Modeling, Electric Vehicle Technology, and Advanced Sensing and Control.
