SPEAKER BIOGRAPHY
Mr. Robert is a Partner of Spy Pond Partners, a transportation consulting firm based in the Boston area. He has over 25 years of experience in transportation and asset management and works on a variety of projects in asset management implementation and research.
Currently Mr. Robert is leading work to develop and implement asset management systems including: ProjectBuilder, a system developed for Pennsylvania DOT to recommend capital projects combining pavement and bridge management system results; the National Bridge Investment Analysis System (NBIAS), FHWA’s system for predicting national level bridge needs; and OnTrack, a system for using acoustic data collected onboard trains to help support track maintenance decisions and calculate remaining service life. Previously he assisted in development of highway and transit asset management plans for twelve agencies and led a series of National Cooperative Research Program (NCHRP) and Transit Cooperative Research Program (TCRP) projects related to asset management.
Mr. Robert is a member of APTA’s Transit Asset Management/SGR Working Group and American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Infrastructure Systems Committee. He is a former member of the TRB committees on Asset Management, Bridge Management and Transit Management and Performance. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Physics and Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, both from MIT.
