SPEAKER BIOGRAPHY
Tom leads WSP’s Strategic Asset Management practice in the UK, working across all industry sectors, and chairs WSP’s global asset management practice, bringing together over 500 professionals to collaborate on international asset management projects.
Tom is currently leading asset management improvement projects and organizational change programs for a number of asset owners in the UK and US, primarily in the transport infrastructure industry.
Tom is an Asset Manager, Certified Risk Manager, Chartered Mechanical Engineer and Certified Reliability Leader. He has over 17 years’ experience in asset management, capital projects and strategic advisory services for complex engineering and management engagements.
Tom spent 2016 to 2020 in the US, based in Chicago, working across the country to support agencies facing the challenges of complying with the then-new TAM rules from the FTA and FHWA.
ISO 55001, the international standard for Asset Management Systems, which has significant similarities to the FTA and FHWA rules, has been of great importance to Tom, who's been on the committee developing and maintaining it since 2012.
He presented at TRB TAM 2016 and 2018, and is very glad to be back for this next in-person event!
