SPEAKER BIOGRAPHY
Ben Rivers is a senior geotechnical engineer with the Federal Highway Administration. After working in the private sector in Asheville, NC for six years, Ben joined the Federal Highway Administration’s Resource Center where he has been advancing geotechnologies for the last 23 years. Within the Resource Center, Ben provides technical assistance and geotechnical training, and champions proven and effective geotechnical innovations for transportation applications. Ben is currently focused in program areas related to subsurface investigations, earthwork, geohazards, geotechnical asset management and performance, and geotechnical data interchange for improved transportation project and management applications. Ben led the Everyday Counts Round 5 (EDC5) initiative on Advanced Geotechnical Methods in Exploration, better known as The A-GaME.
