SPEAKER BIOGRAPHY
Krae is a transit planner and engineer who specializes in supporting asset management and capital prioritization projects and providing analysis for a variety of transit efforts including long-range planning, operations analysis, and service planning. He is passionate about partnering with transit agencies to make strategic improvements to their asset management and capital prioritization processes, both in terms of the technical work as well as introducing new criteria such as ridership and equity into the calculation. Since 2017, he has been working as an on-site consultant at the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA), including assisting with the development of MTA's Capital Needs Inventory (CNI), which has involved conducting interviews with asset owners across the agency to construct new five-point scales for conditions and striking a balance between simplicity of scoring while still capturing the limiting factors to each system. He has served in a similar role on projects for the South Florida Regional Transportation Authority (SFRTA) and LYNX in Florida; the Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) in North Carolina; and the City of Honolulu in Hawaii.
