SPEAKER BIOGRAPHY
Mr. Kumapley is the Chief of Enterprise Asset Management at the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey (PANYNJ).
Robert has more than 35 years of experience in civil engineering design, construction, and asset management. Robert currently leads the implementation of the Agency’s Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) Program, which enables coordinated management of the agency’s diverse assets under one umbrella. Under his leadership, the EAM Program established a governance framework, data and system design specifications, and a myriad of supporting standards. These elements are foundational to improving asset life cycle management and supporting the Agency’s operations and maintenance, state of good repair efforts, and capital planning and renewal activities.
Robert joined the Port Authority in May 2003 and has worked in various departments, including the Engineering Department, Office of the Chief Security Officer, and Office of the Chief Operating Officer. During his tenure, he led the successful delivery of complex, multi-discipline infrastructure improvement projects, including the Restore the George and the PATH Tunnels Security Mitigation Programs.
Prior to joining the PANYNJ, Mr. Kumapley worked as a transportation infrastructure design, construction, and asset management professional with HNTB Corporation (NJ, USA), ERES Inc, now Applied Research Associates, Inc. (IL, USA), Watermeyer, Legge, Piésold and Uhlmann now Knight Piesold (Ashford, Kent UK) and Conterra Limited (Accra, Ghana).
