SPEAKER BIOGRAPHY
Victor Rivas is an Asset Management Consultant for Jacobs. His consulting and research assignments focus mainly on transportation asset management, systems operations, capital programming and resilience planning. His collaborative and multidisciplinary approach to problem solving has been applied to both the private and public sectors. As member of TRB Committee on Transportation Resilience Metrics, Victor contributed to the drafting of TRB Report 340: Investing on Transportation Resilience: A Framework for Informed Choices. Victor led a research team tasked with the development of the first Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Transit Asset Management Systems Handbook. Prior to joining Jacobs Victor led the team in charge of planning, programming, and managing the capital investment program for the fifth largest transit agency in the U.S. Since 2012 Victor has collaborated with the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) Standards Program as member of the State of Good Repair/Transit Asset Management Working Group. Victor holds a Master of Science degree in Urban Studies and Planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He also holds a Master of Urban Planning and Policy degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Southern College (TN).
