SPEAKER BIOGRAPHY
Sharon Okoye works as a Senior Transportation Engineer for Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT). Sharon has over 25 years' experience at CTDOT in varying roles in Highway Design, Intermodal Planning, and Highway Safety.
Sharon currently serves as the Public Transportation Asset Management (TAM) Lead for Department’s Asset Management Group, and has been in this role since 2015, leading the successful completion of two Transit Asset Management Plans for the state of Connecticut. Sharon is also serves as a member on the American Public Transportation Administration’s (APTA) TAM/State of Good Repair Working Group.
Sharon holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and is a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP). Sharon serves on the Board of Directors of the Southern New England Chapter of the Project Management Institute, and as President of the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials Connecticut Chapter.
