SPEAKER BIOGRAPHY
Ken White is an Assistant Director for Administrative Services at the Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) in the Division of Planning. Overseeing the Office of Transit and Capital Programming, Ken and his team are responsible for managing transit facilities, coordinating intermodal projects, and developing RIDOT’s 10-Year Plan.
Last year, Ken led RIDOT’s effort to deploy funding from the Infrastructure Investments and Jobs Act, coordinating the allocation of $748 million in new spending within three months of the law’s passage. Since his arrival at RIDOT in 2017, Ken has also been a key architect of the Department’s grant application strategy, supporting the development of 12 successful grants securing more than $257 million. Ken represents RIDOT on the Northeast Corridor Commission, and he serves as RIDOT’s Asset Management Lead. He is also a member of the NCHRP Research Panel studying “Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion to Improve Transportation Asset Management.”
Ken holds a Ph.D. and Master’s from Brown University in Political Science, and dual Bachelor’s degrees from Union College in Political Science and Economics. A Connecticut native, he has lived in Providence since 2016 and enjoys exploring the Ocean State with his wife and dog.
