SPEAKER BIOGRAPHY
Jonathan Fok serves as a Transportation Asset Management Specialist for the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) Statewide Asset Management Program. The program has four major asset categories that include Ferries, Highways, Intra-Agency (Facilities, Information Technology, Real Estate Services, Transportation Equipment Fund), and Multimodal (Aviation, Public Transportation, Rail). These categories encompass 21 asset classes that make up WSDOT’s multimodal transportation system which is valued at nearly $200 billion.
He was one of the leads in updating Washington State's Bridge & Pavement FHWA TAMP in 2022 and is currently leading the statewide asset management planning efforts at WSDOT. He also has worked on the development and update of WSDOT's Statewide Transportation Asset Management Plan (STAMP), which describes activities and businesses processes used to manage assets for all 21 asset classes.
He has been with WSDOT for almost 6 years in positions that are responsible for transportation asset management and transportation policy. Prior to WSDOT, he served as a graduate research assistant at the University of Wisconsin for the National Center for Freight, Infrastructure, Research and Education (CFIRE) where he was responsible for conducting research on performance management in transportation sustainability.
