SPEAKER BIOGRAPHY

Bukola is an esteemed Ph.D. candidate and research assistant at Iowa State University (ISU), where she specializes in Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering. With advanced degrees in Sustainable Construction from ISU and the University of Liverpool, she has amassed an impressive repertoire of knowledge. She also obtained her bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Nigeria. She has been recognized for her work and academic excellence, receiving awards such as the WeLocal Rising Star Award, Construction Engineering Fellowship, and the Agbami Medical & Engineering Professionals Scholarship Award.
Bukola's research interests orbit around construction engineering and sustainable development, with emphasis on inland waterways, asset management, decision analysis under uncertainty, infrastructure resilience, and sustainable construction. Outside her rigorous academic and research pursuits, Bukola is the FY 24 President of Graduate Society of Women Engineers at ISU, demonstrating her commitment to leadership and community development. She generously lends her voice to critical issues, having spoken on the fight against corruption and published an opinion piece on sustainability in the Iowa State Daily.
As a presenter at the 14th National Conference on Transportation Asset Management, Bukola, alongside her esteemed team members, will be spotlighting their work on the Risk-Based Asset Management Approach for Effective Culvert Management in Changing Climates. At the conference, attendees will have the unique opportunity to gain firsthand insights from the team that's at the forefront of this dynamic approach to climate-resilient asset management.
