Abstract
The 2025 CAE Aviation Talent Forecast presents a comprehensive, data‑driven outlook on global workforce needs across civil aviation over the 2025–2034 period. As air travel demand continues to rise and commercial and business aviation fleets expand, the industry faces a large need for aviation personnel. CAE projects the need for approximately 1.46 million new aviation professionals worldwide over the next decade, driven by both sustained sector growth and a significant wave of retirements across critical roles. The forecast identifies demand for 300,000 new pilots, 416,000 aircraft maintenance technicians, 678,000 cabin crew members, and—newly analyzed in this edition—71,000 air traffic controllers. Commercial aviation represents the largest share of this requirement, with highest demand in the Asia‑Pacific region, while business aviation will require an additional 102,000 professionals. Across all roles, filling talent pipelines remain challenging due to training capacity limitations, dropout rates, and financial and technical barriers to entry.
