Women and Gender in Transportation

The WGiT Conference Planning Committee is soliciting papers for publication in a Special Collection of Transportation Research Record: The Journal of the Transportation Research Board. The aim of the Collection is to highlight research presented at the conference, though we welcome other submissions that are consistent with the conference theme - Progress and Possibilities: Bridging Perspectives. The theme highlights how far recognition of gendered issues in transport have come, while also noting the important work ahead to bridge inequities - work that will require spanning disciplines, departments, scales, and organizations. Papers must focus on the intersection of women and/or gender and transport Submissions that involve collaboration between different academic departments, institutions, and professional organizations are highly encouraged. Such collaborations can enhance the depth and breadth of the research, ensuring that various aspects of gender and transportation are thoroughly examined.

Special Collection articles will undergo full, independent peer review, in line with TRR and SAGE’s ethical and peer review and publishing policies. There is no guarantee of acceptance, even for work presented at the conference or invited papers. The journal’s Editor and/or Publisher have final authority on editorial content.
