Speaker Biography
Kate Andrus, AICP, LEED GA, chairs the AVO30 Environmental Issues In Aviation committee with TRB. She has over 18 years of experience as a senior environmental planner and project manager at Mead & Hunt for airport planning projects of all sizes. She leads planning for organizations, creatively looking for ways to maximize sustainability within the context of complex airport operations and development programs. She also works with airports to implement these plans, pairing business cases, integrated land use planning, and sustainable initiatives to create a resilient future. Through this sustainability work, she was named as a “Top 40 Under 40” by Aviation Week & Space Technology. All of her career has been focused on aviation specific environmental planning, completing studies focused on aviation noise, land use planning, airport sustainability and resilience, as well as all levels of NEPA documentation. She also is active nationally relative to leading aviation environmental efforts as a member of the Airports Council International Environmental Affairs Steering Group.
