Presentation Description
Prioritizing investments in active transportation and transit, and effectively integrating transportation and land use planning, can yield significant environmental and equity benefits. Several states are pursuing these strategies to reduce emissions and vehicle miles traveled and to improve transportation equity. This session will explore challenges and opportunities in implementing investments in transit and active transportation and "land use/housing as a climate strategy" policies.
Speaker Biography
Georges Bou-Saab is currently working at Arcadis as a Transportation Engineer. Arcadis is a global design and consultancy firm for natural and built assets. His workload mostly focuses on traffic safety and operations analysis as well as EV planning. Georges is also a very active member of the air and noise community of practice within the organization. Before joining Arcadis, Georges worked as an Assistant Research Scientist at Texas A&M Transportation Institute. He investigated and assessed sustainable transportation practices to enhance the well-being of citizens. He comes from a solid technical background with a strong interest in data analytics, and modeling. He also has a passion for strategy. His area of focus and interest varies from quantitative analysis to project management.
