Presentation Description
Prioritizing investments in active transportation and transit, and effectively integrating transportation and land use planning, can yield significant environmental and equity benefits. Several states are pursuing these strategies to reduce emissions and vehicle miles traveled and improve transportation equity. This session will explore challenges and opportunities in implementing investments in transit and active transportation and "land use/housing as a climate strategy" policies.
Speaker Biography
Annalisa leads the California Air Resources Board’s Community Action Branch and supports local actions to pursue sustainable, equitable communities. Her team provides resources to support local climate action planning, assesses whether transportation and land use development projects support the State’s air quality and climate goals, supports advancement of building codes to increase electrification of the building and transportation sectors, seeks to identify and address barriers to equitable zero-emission mobility in local communities, and oversees research to promote sustainable land use and transportation planning and equitable, clean mobility.
