Climate change and severe environmental conditions are challenging all modes of transportation to meet present needs without compromising the needs of the future. This session explores how climate change is presently impacting transportation, economic development, and land use and the likely future impacts.
Speaker Biography
James (Jim) Gillespie is a Senior Research Scientist at the Virginia Transportation Research Council (VTRC). He has done transport research for over twenty-five years on topics ranging from finance, forecasting, demand modeling, and cost-benefit analysis, to life-cycle cost analysis, equipment management, and innovative contracting.
