Session attendees will learn about the federal programs that exist related to resource conservation and recovery in transportation (e.g. U.S. EPA’s Sustainable Materials Management  program and initiatives related to the beneficial use of non-hazardous secondary industrial materials), as well as federal perspectives on challenges and opportunities. Session attendees also will gain insight into how federal agencies support resource conservation and recovery by state DOTs and local transportation agencies.
