Presenter bio: Nicole Villamizar joined the U.S. EPA’s Office of Resource Conservation and Recovery 13 years ago as a Presidential Management Fellow. Nicole's focus areas at the EPA have included advancing sustainable materials management through the recycling and reuse of non-hazardous industrial secondary materials (coal ash, spent foundry sand, and construction and demolition debris), as well as advancing sustainable management of electronics. Nicole currently serves as Chief of the Materials Management Branch where she is responsible for overseeing the built environment and sustainable management of food aspects of the SMM program. Nicole holds a Master of Public Administration degree in Environmental Science and Policy from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Brandeis University.
